Privacy
Dumbbells and Neon is made by RAW Technologies NE Ltd. This page says what the app does with your information, in plain words.
Your data stays on your phone
Everything you log stays on your phone. We run no server that receives your data, so we never have it and can’t see it, sell it or lose it.
No account, no analytics
There is no account to make and no tracking or analytics in the app or on this website. This website sets no cookies. The app is not aimed at children under 13.
Health Connect and Apple Health
If you connect Health Connect on Android, or Apple Health on iPhone, the app reads your steps, weight and body fat, and nothing else. It only reads: it never writes to them and never sends what it reads anywhere. You can turn this off at any time in Health Connect, or in the Health app on iPhone.
Barcodes and food search
When you scan a barcode or search for a food, the app sends only that barcode or search to Open Food Facts, an open food database, so it can look it up. Nothing else about you is sent.
Camera and photos
The camera is used only for posing practice, progress photos and share cards. Photos are kept privately on your phone and are never uploaded. They are saved to your gallery or shared only when you choose to.
Voice
The timer and posing practice are spoken by your phone’s own speech engine. Nothing is recorded and nothing is sent anywhere.
Backups
Android’s own backup copies the app’s data to your Google account, if you have that switched on; photos are not part of that backup. On iPhone, iCloud Backup includes the app’s data and photos, if you have it switched on. Either way the backup is in your own account, encrypted, and we never see it. If you back up photos or use Export, they go only where you choose to save them.
Sharing
A link or file is made only when you tap Share. What it holds goes where you send it, and nowhere else.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your phone. There is no account, so there is nothing for us to delete.
